About Me

About Alison
For nearly 40 years, I have served as a committed public servant helping to improve Hoosier lives. I have lived in Lawrence since 1999, raising my twin sons. I have loved living in this diverse community.
I earned a Masters in Public Affairs from the IU O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and have worked for local and state government, non-profit agencies, for profit businesses, and have owned and operated an LLC consulting firm that provided grant writing, program evaluation and program design services for non-profits.
I have a deep understanding of affordable housing policies and programs including homelessness prevention and intervention, affordable rental housing programs and development, first time homeownership programs and homeowner repair. I have worked in the public workforce and adult education systems. Finally, I am well versed in the basic social service safety net programs including Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Hoosier Indiana Plan (HIP). I believe my years of experience working in social services, housing and community development arenas makes me uniquely qualified to serve as the Lawrence Township Trustee.

Growing Hope
When people in need approach the Trustee’s Office, I’ll offer support during their crisis and cultivate a sense of hope for what lies ahead.

- HOPE – As Trustee I’ll offer support during a family’s crisis and cultivate a sense of hope that things will get better.
- OPPORTUNITY – By helping our neighbors overcome their crisis, as Trustee, I hope to cultivate for them a sense of opportunity to succeed in the future.
- REFORM – As Trustee I commit to reform the trustee system to strengthen our local emergency financial aid system and contribute to a thriving community.
This recently published study highlights the goals I hope to implement as the Lawrence Trustee.
